EBSC Futures Program
The Futures division is designed for players U4 – U7 and focuses on following standards set forth by U.S. Soccer Player Development Initiatives put into place in 2017. In this age range, the programs focus on developing skills and abilities in our young players, building and growing their comfort with the soccer ball. Success requires a long-term approach and commitment to player’s growth. At this stage, individual development, introduction to a team environment and a fun soccer experience is the priority. At EBSC, the Futures program is where relationships with players, parents and families are built and developed as you progress through our club!
The Munchkins program is for East Brunswick’s youngest players, and is an introduction to the game of soccer. Along with our ATSC partners, the program is designed to focus on an initial introduction to soccer and developing gross motor skills along with basic individual soccer skills. Training occurs once per week, typically on Saturday mornings. This program is designed to allow the kids to have fun and learn how enjoyable the game of soccer is!
Superstars (U5 and U6)
The Superstars programs are for our U5 (Junior Superstars) and U6 (Senior Superstars) aged players. Along with our ATSC partners, parent volunteer coaches will conduct weekly training sessions, typically on Saturday mornings. These age groups focus on skills with and without the soccer ball as well as developing movement and coordination. The focus is on the individual player and getting many touches on the ball during the training session. Ultimately, the objective is to have FUN while playing the game of soccer.
Development Program (U7)
Our U7 group is also geared towards player development, and ball mastery will be the main focus for these players. Rules of the game and basic soccer principles will be introduced as team play becomes more of a focus as well. The U7 age group will have a weekly small sided game, in addition to the traditional weekly training session(s) with their coaches and our ATSC partners. Games are typically on Saturdays and will be coached by parent volunteers. The U7 games are played as follows
EBSC will also continue with our advanced training program which will be available for players that are determined to be appropriate for this atmosphere. This program can include tournaments, festivals and scrimmages in a more competitive environment in and around central New Jersey. These opportunities are designed with the advanced player in mind and will better prepare these players for travel level soccer starting at U8.
