Sky Blue is coming to East Brunswick!

EBSC will host a special training session by Sky Blue, New Jersey’s team in the new Women’s Professional Soccer league, on Tuesday, May 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Heavenly Farms. Coach Ian Sawyers will run his team through a formal training session for somewhere between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Following the training, Sky Blue players, including EBSC’s own Heather O’Reilly, will be available for a meet-and-greet, while Coach Sawyers and his staff will huddle with EBSC coaches to discuss the team’s performance during the training session.

All EBSC Recreation and Travel players and coaches are encouraged to attend. The training session is free.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for our young players and our coaches -- at both the Recreation and Travel levels -- to see how a professional soccer team practices," said Elizabeth McSpiritt, EBSC’s vice president of girls’ recreation. "I think our players will be amazed to see the focus and intensity of the players during their training sessions."

Sky Blue, 1-2-2 so far in this inaugural WPS season, will play its next home game on May 31 at 6 p.m. at Rutgers University’s Yurcak Field. EBSC, an early sponsor of Sky Blue soccer, has purchased 100 season’s tickets for each Sky Blue home game. Tickets are distributed to EBSC players and their families -- through their Recreation divisions or their Travel teams -- for free.
